Yorkshire's John Whitaker came a close second in the Leading Show Jumper of the Year competition at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham this evening (Sunday 9 October), finishing just four hundredths of a second behind the winner, Ireland's Cian O'Connor. John was riding Ornellaia, the horse he took to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
