Even the 23 hour plane journey and the Australian winter weather couldn’t stop the Lions tour 2013 being the greatest.
Having climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, toured the Sydney Opera House, watched the sunrise over Ayers Rock, and visited some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, I class myself as the luckiest Lion in history.
The Australian experience was all topped off by the 2-1 test victory over the Wallabies. It was an honour and a privilege to be at all three test matches and the atmosphere was like nothing I’ve ever experienced.
Especially when Kurtley Beale .. Need I say any more!
Having my photo taken with Lions Legends Jeremy Guscott and Scott Quinnell was also a highlight on my three weeks down under.
Although, not as exciting as being on the same homebound flight as the current Lions Squad though!! Even if they were in Business class, and I was stuck in the suitcase down in the under cabin.
All in all, a trip of a life time. See you in 12 years Australia!
