Well life at Lloyd Bell Productions is certainly varied and never ever dull. Take the last 7 days for instance. It all started with an early morning visit to Silverstone to the Porsche Experience Centre to catch up with Mark Webber who has of course left F1 to focus on Endurance racing with Porsche. As self-confessed petrolheads what an exciting year LBP has in store working with one of the nicest guys in motorsport AND we get to go Le Mans!!! It seems everyone wants to talk to Mark and in the last fortnight alone we have arranged for him to be live on BBC Radio 4 the Today programme and BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans Show. Silverstone and the start of the series over Easter weekend looks set to be very busy indeed!
It was then a quick stopover in Heathrow before travelling to Sopot in Poland for the IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships. I didn’t know what to expect in terms of Sopot but I was pleasantly surprised – what a stunning place right on the coast. Ever the tourist, in-between the athletics sessions I did manage to walk the longest wooden pier in Europe. The IAAF Radio team were superb throughout the 3 days of competition and I hope we conveyed all the excitement and action to all the athletics fans listening across the globe. LBP has covered athletics for nearly 10 years but Sopot will undoubtedly be one of my highlights. Now it’s time to head home, recharge the batteries and get ready for the Cheltenham Festival and the conclusion to the 6 Nations. This really is turning out to be a fascinating month of sport!
