The Swede shot an incredible course record of 62 to come from seven shots back going into the final round to win. He produced eight birdies and a dramatic eagle on the 18th , and final hole, before having to wait patiently for all the later groups to play before he could properly celebrate.
Graeme Storm ended up as top British player with the Englishman carding a final round 68 to be on 7 under, 4 behind the winner to finish 6th overall. Storm had never finished better that 22nd in 12 previous attempts at the competition.
Ireland’s Shane Lowry had looked on course to compete for the win before a difficult back 9 of his final round saw him from 4 shots in 3 holes. Despite his troubles, Lowry finished 6th (tied) overall after his final day 69 – his best result at Wentworth.
