Porsche Carrera Cup – Silverstone

As Porsche Carrera Cup headed to Silverstone the top of the table was tight with the none of the top teams wanting to drop a single point. Silverstone would see heartbreak for the reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Champion Dan Cammish, while Dino Zamparelli celebrated!

Round one saw Zamparelli and Cammish battle for first, with Tio Ellinas close behind the pair. Charlie Eastwood had a tough first race but managed to fight his way back from tenth to finish in fourth.

Round two saw Dino Zamparelli finish in the top sport with Ellinas in hot pursuit finishing in second, while Cammish was out of the race after a technical difficulty saw him retire after leading. Eastwood meanwhile could not get higher than second despite starting in second.

Tio Ellinas recorded his best weekend result in his career to date! Finishing in third and second ensured he did enough to win the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Rookie Title.

Karl Leonard stormed back into the Pro-Am1 category, after being away from the Porsche Carrera Cup. Alex Martin however took the win for the Pro-AM 1.

After Dino’s dominate of a weekend he and Charlie Eastwood are tied on points as they look to a showdown in the season finale in Brands Hatch next weekend. The Pressure is on Dino he has to win both races at Brands to come out victorious in the League!
