An emotional win for the King as his horse First receiver wins the SEIB Racehorse to riding horse of the Year championship at the Horse of the year show at the NEC in Birmingham. The horse had previously been owned by the Queen, who had been trying for 20 years to win a class at the show. The horse was ridden by Essex-based Katie Jerram-Hunnable who had finished runner up 4 times before for the queen. A clearly emotional Katie spoke to Rupert Bell.
Gemma Owen who spent the summer on Love Island is keen to get her dressage career back on Tracks. The daughter of Former England Footballer Michael, who has represented Great Britain as a junior visited the Horse of the Year Show as a brand ambassador of Holland Copper. Gemma spoke to Rupert Bell about her experience of being at the show as well as her plans for the future.
Irish rider Commandant Geoff Curran and his horse Bishops Quarter delighted a sell-out crowd to take the puissance honours at the Horse of the Year Show 2022. Curran made his first visit to the show jumping with effortless ease to be the last pair standing when they cleared 7ft 2 and a quarter inches in the 5th and final round beating Welshman Mark Edwards to the title. Curran was delighted to win one of the sport’s most iconic classes and spoke to Rupert Bell after his win.
