Porsche claim double WEC podium at Silverstone
Porsche’s new-look LMP1 teams began the World Endurance Championships with two podiums, with car #2 finishing second and car #1 finishing third overall behind eventual winners Toyota.
In a tense, thrilling opening round car #2 of Brendon Hartley, Earl Bamber and Timo Bernhard held the lead into the final exchanges but narrowly lost out by just 6 seconds. Hartley had this to say afterwards:
Car #1’s third place was a positive start to Andre Lotterer’s Porsche alongside Nick Tandy and Neel Jani. Lotterer was more than satisfied with the team’s performances in the opening round:
